Intel Announces Partnership With Arm, Set to Compete With TSMC for Foundry Orders
On December 12, Intel announced that its contract manufacturing unit would partner with a UK semiconductor design unit to ensure that semiconductors for smartphones using the company’s technology could be manufactured at Intel’s factories. The company has already committed to OEM manufacturing at Qualcomm and Amazon Web Services (AWS) factories in the US, aiming to boost the factory’s competitiveness through wider acceptance in the advanced mobile sector.

US control over chips will continue to tighten amid concerns that China is catching up in the production of advanced semiconductors, Chinese media reports say.
Nvidia will be under constant attack, according to US officials, and even as they redesign their advanced chips to meet export standards, they will still be eliminated. For its part, the US has called out Nvidia, saying that if the company took any steps to change the design of a chip that would allow China to pursue an AI project, “I would be taking enforcement action the next day.”
