Optocoupler
Optocouplers (also known as photocouplers, optical isolators, or optical isolators) are used to prevent high or rapidly changing voltages at one end of a circuit from damaging components or distorting signal transmission at the other end. They transmit electrical signals by means of light rather than by transmitting energy, and do so in only one direction.
